What is Photofraxel?
Photofraxel is a state-of-the-art aesthetic procedure that combines the benefits of both intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) and erbium lasers into one effective treatment. It can be used to treat a broad range of skin conditions, and is capable of being used on nearly any area of the body.
How Does it Work?
Understanding the way that Photofraxel works requires an understanding both IPL therapy and erbium laser treatments, since photofraxel utilizes the strengths of each.
IPL — or intense pulsed light — therapy uses broadband light to restore and rejuvenate the skin. It does so by stimulating healing in the deepest layers of the skin while leaving the top layers unharmed. Erbium laser treatments work in much the same way, but use laser energy instead of broadband light to stimulate internal healing. Like IPL, erbium lasers leave the uppermost layer of skin largely unharmed. When combined, these two treatments trigger the creation of even more rejuvenating growth factors than either could do alone. while still proving to be safe and effective.
What are the Benefits of Photofraxel?
On their own, IPL and erbium laser skin resurfacing are treatments that give patients beautiful results. Together, they provide even more benefits then they each do when used alone. Photofraxel improves the overall look, feel, and texture of the skin that it is used on. It has the benefit of using your body’s own natural process of healing to stimulate rejuvenation, so you can look your best without invasive surgery or harmful chemicals.
Am I a Good Candidate?
While this procedure is safe for almost anyone, interested patients will need to schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Ashruf before undergoing treatment.
