What is laser liposuction?
Laser liposuction is liposuction performed with the assistance of a low energy laser beam. Laser liposuction delivers a beam of light to stimulate collagen production to tighten the skin; this allows fat disruption and skin tightening to occur simultaneously. Once the fatty tissue is disrupted, the unwanted fat deposits are suctioned away.
What is SmartLipo and how does it work?
Among all laser liposuction systems, the industry’s leading laser lipolysis system is SmartLipo. SmartLipo is also the number one cosmetic procedure requested among all laser liposuction procedures. SmartLipo Triplex uses a small fiber, similar to the tip of a fine tip marking pen, in combination with a low energy laser. The fiber is inserted under the skin, allowing the laser to deliver energy directing through the fiber and to the fat cells, causing them to breakdown almost instantaneously. This causes a shrinkage of collagen within the skin, resulting in skin tightening.
Without SmartLipo, liposuction can be achieved; however, skin tightening is not possible.
This cutting edge new system allows Dr. Ashruf to provide efficient, high-definition treatments with a faster recovery time. This is because Dr. Ashruf uses three different wavelengths of light, customizing the SmartLipo procedure based on the patient’s individual needs. The capacity to perform the focused, targeted treatments is why SmartLipo is “smart”.
SmartLipo Laser Liposuction: It’s the most trusted. SmartLipo is the most widely accepted and clinically studied laser-assisted lipolysis system available today. With a 94% patient approval rating, you can have confidence that SmartLipo will give you the results you want without the downtime you don’t.
Compared to other liposuction and laser procedures, SmartLipo:
- Is Faster
- Is Less Invasive
- Has Less Downtime
- Is Relatively Painless
Is SmartLipo Right for You?
- Do you have “problem” areas that you want to treat that do not respond to diet and exercise?
- Are you close to your ideal weight?
- Are you interested in a procedure that is effective, fast, convenient and has virtually no downtime?
If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, you may be a good candidate for SmartLipo Laser Liposuction.
What are the differences between Liposuction and SmartLipo?
Typically, traditional liposuction requires general anesthesia and subsequent downtime. In contrast, laser liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure with virtually no downtime.
Am I a good candidate for SmartLipo?
If you are generally in good health, are unhappy with the shape of your body or have certain “problem areas” that concern you, then you may be a good candidate for SmartLipo. In many cases, genetic factors, pregnancy, and age can all affect the amount of fat in the body.
The best candidates for SmartLipo are men and women who are close to their ideal weight, but have areas of fat that bother them. These include love handles, flabby arms, heavy thighs or saddlebags or a full neck and chin. Due to the precision of the SmartLipo Triplex system, small areas such as the knees can also be treated and contoured.
SmartLipo Triplex is also ideal for creating definition. Dr. Ashruf’s specialization in high-definition Brazilian techniques allows him to provide his patients with a contoured, defined look, particularly in the waistline of women and the abdominal muscles of men.
What areas of the body can be treated with SmartLipo Triplex?
The SmartLipo Triplex laser body sculpting workstation can efficiently and effectively treat the chin, neckline, jaw line, sub-scapular (otherwise known as “bra rolls”), abdomen, flanks, love handles, saddlebags, thighs, calves, and knees.
How many areas can I treat at a time?
The number of areas that can be treated per visit may vary. Often, this depends on the patient’s overall body frame size and the size of the area being treated. For most people, up to three areas can be treated per visit. For overweight patients, up to two areas can be treated.
Safety and comfort are always are always a top priority for Dr. Ashruf.
If a patient has multiple areas they would like to be treated, their procedure will likely need to be performed in stages. Dr. Ashruf creates customized treatment plans for these patients that include multiple visits. To achieve the best results on procedures requiring multiple treatments, SmartLipo is sometimes used in combination with Cellulaze treatments.
Is the fat loss permanent and will fat reappear on other areas of my body?
The areas where liposuction was performed will remain smaller, as the fat cells have been permanently removed from the area.
It is a common misconception that once a patient has received a liposuction treatment, fat cells will appear disproportionately in other areas of the body. This does not occur: if an individual gains weight after liposuction, there will be a proportional increase in weight.
What happens if you gain weight after SmartLipo?
Generally, because the fat cells have been removed in the treated areas, weight gain is less visible. In other areas, there is a proportional increase in fat cells based on the extent of weight gain.
What type of anesthesia is required?
Dr. Ashruf performs SmartLipo Triplex under local anesthesia, with tumescent fluid.
The evolution of modern anesthesia provides our patients with many advantages. Patients are able to eat and drink as usual the day of their procedure and drive themselves to their appointment. By remaining awake during the procedure, patients can elect to drive themselves home afterwards if they wish to do so. By not having any of the side effects of general anesthesia, patients are able to recover much more quickly, with less downtime than traditional liposuction treatments.
Will SmartLipo Hurt?
You will not feel pain during your SmartLipo Triplex treatment. Rather, you will feel the movement of the laser as the fiber is moved across the fat cells under the skin. Patients are often thrilled when they realize how comfortable they feel during the procedure. The procedure is so casual that oftentimes patients listen to music or watch TV during it.
How Much Downtime is involved?
The laser fiber is the most advanced tool to show the location of the fat cells within a specific area. By focusing the laser on a specific, targeted area, the typical bruising and swelling associated with liposuction is eliminated. This greatly reduces the downtime of the procedure.
Dr. Ashruf specializes in high definition, minimally invasive techniques that minimize discomfort and provide beautiful results.
